Many people often worry what they will do in case of an emergency? What will they take with them? Where would they meet? What would they consume? Etc. My family and I have had this discussion before. No one ever really knows what to expect in an emergency, but you should always prepare for the worst. Even though we are not yet done with out emergency kit, we add to it on a monthly basis or whenever we can.
In case of an emergency, my family has decided to meet in our parking lot, outside. We are a family of seven and have a pet dog. Amongst our family, there are 4 adults, 2 teenagers, one infant, and 1 dog. Aside from our emergency kit, we have decided to get a box and put in things we cherish most like photo albums, etc. We have not yet put anything together, but we will as soon as we get a chance to. As for food, we are going to be storing anything that will not spoil. We won't be taking actual meals, we'll be leaning more to canned food, snacks, and just anything in general that can be stored and will not spoil. We need to purchase a first aid kit as well, which is probably one of the most important things we need. We currently only have rubbing alcohol, but when purchasing materials, we will be looking for anything that treats minor injuries, like bandages, medical tape, towelettes, etc. As for transportation, we have 3 cars and in case we are unable to use vehicles, we will stick to transportation by foot. When seeking for shelter, we will visit the nearest community center or hospital who offer food or a place to rest. We will also buy local maps to guide us in case we are lost or are somewhere we can not recognize and/or can not use electric devices. My sister is currently taking a course at her college that teaches her how to perform C.P.R. My father already knows how to go through with this procedure and also knows how to determine one's pulse.
